Steve Gilbert
City Manager and Director of Economic Development
Stroud, Oklahoma (population 2,300)
Steve Gilbert has over 20 years of experience in the public, private and non-profit sectors, with a focus on workforce, economic and community development. His professional background and experience includes senior positions with the Tulsa Metro Chamber, the Memphis Regional Chamber and the St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association.
Steve has served as executive director for the St. Louis Technology Gateway Alliance and Workforce Tulsa. He worked as a management consultant with Coopers & Lybrand and in 2005 was appointed by Tulsa’s Mayor as the City of Tulsa’s Director of Economic and Workforce Development. Steve grew up in Stroud, Oklahoma and returned back home after 25 years of working as a civic entrepreneur to try to make a difference in his hometown. Gilbert is a 1986 graduate of the University of Oklahoma. Steve and his wife, Erin, have three children, of which they are very proud! |
